The Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) in Abia, on Thursday, formally launched its campaign for the upcoming November 2 Local Government Elections.
Speaking at the event held at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba, the State Chairman of the party, Mr Chris Onukwue, said that the party was poised to sweep the Chairmanship and Councillorship seats at the polls.
Onukwue urged the candidates to commence their campaigns in earnest and prepare themselves for the polls.
He urged all the ZLP candidates in the 17 Local Government Areas (LGAs) to work together with the leadership of the party to deliver at the polls.
In their separate speeches, the Chairmanship Candidates for Isuikwuato and Umuahia North LGAs, Mr Chinedu Ekeke and Chief Smart Ihuoma, respectively, thanked the leadership of the party for the confidence reposed in them.
They expressed their determination to be good ambassadors of the party at the grassroots, when elected.
The event featured the presentation of party flags to the Chairmanship and Councillorship Candidates for the polls. (NAN).
