As was the case four years ago, President Muhammadu Buhari has again directed his ministers to continue working in their offices until Monday, May 29, 2023.
Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed confirmed the instruction while briefing State House Correspondents after the Valedictory Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over the President at Presidential Villa, Abuja.
According to the Minister, contrary to the insinuation that the President dissolved the cabinet after the
Valedictory FEC meeting, he instructed the ministers to keeping working till May 29.
“I want to clear the fake news that broke out when we were still in the FEC meeting that the President will dissolve the cabinet after the Valedictory session today. This is not true, instead Mr. President has directed the ministers to go back to their offices to keep working till next Monday.
“As you may have been aware there are activities lined up which the ministers will attend like the Investiture of the President-elect and his Vice; there are Juma’t prayers on Friday and Inter- denominational church service infill Sunday as well as other programmes the ministers are expected to attend. So the cabinet is not dissolved. I want say it is fake news”, Mohamed posited.
Prompt News reports that Buhari had in 2019 directed his ministers to keeping working till May 28 in that instance.
