Bayer Leverkusen winger Nathan Tella is looking forward to playing for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Tella is in Nigeria’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
It’s the first time he will be called by Nigeria after he opted to represent the West Africans despite being eligible to play for Nigeria.
“It’s a great feeling and a great opportunity for me. As a young boy and a footballer, you dream of representing your own country – and now I finally have the opportunity to do so. I can’t wait and I’m really looking forward to it,” he told Bayer Leverkusen’s official website.
The 24-year-old will be looking to make his debut for the three-time African champions when they confront the Crocodiles of Lesotho and Warriors of Zimbabwe in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers next week.
The Super Eagles will entertain Lesotho at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo next Thursday. READ ALSO:
