South Africa head coach, Hugo Broos, eulogised his players for their strong showing against Nigeria in Uyo on Friday night.
Bafana Bafana put aside their difficult travel arrangement to battle to a thrilling 1-1 draw against the Super Eagles.
The former African champions were the better side in the first half and took the lead through Thembo Zwane one minute before the half hour mark.
Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, Thembo Mokoena hit the woodwork few minutes later.
Benjamin Tanimu also cleared Percy Tau’s goal bound effort towards the end of the first half.
Reacting to the outcome of the game, Broos said: “I have to congratulate my players. As you know or you don’t know, we had a terrible travel to Nigeria on Wednesday.
“We were only in bed at two o’clock on Thursday morning. So we were 20 hours on the way. And when you see the mentality in the team today, then I can only be proud about my players.” READ ALSO:

South Africa will be up against Zimbabwe at the Free State Stadium, Blomfeintein on Tuesday.
