South Africa reached the Round of 16 at the FIFA Women’s World Cup for the first time after a thrilling 3-2 victory against Italy at the Wellington Regional Stadium on Wednesday.

Italy took the lead after 11 minutes when Arianna Caruso slotted home low from the penalty spot after Chiara Beccari had been fouled by Karabo Dhlamini.
The Banyana Banyana levelled on 32 minutes following an own goal from Benedetta Orsi.
South Africa took the lead for the first time in the game through Hildah Magaia on 67 minutes.
The Italians responded with Caruso getting his second of the game 16 minutes from time.
