Nigeria has been drawn in Group D with Egypt, Sudan and Guinea-Bissau in the group stage of the 2022 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) billed for Cameroon next January.
Aside facing serial winners Egypt, three-time Nigeria winner of the African title have avoided early clash with West African heavyweights, Senegal, Ghana, Cote D’Ivoire and Mali.
The draws held in Yaounde, Cameroon saw the 24 qualified teams put into six Groups with host country, Cameroon heading Group A which also has Burkina Faso, Ethiopia and Cape Verde.
In Group B are Senegal, Zimbabwe, Guinea and Malawi.
Group C has Morocco, Ghana, Comoros and Gabon.
In Group E are defending champions Algeria, Sierra-Leone, Equatorial Guinea and Côte d’Ivoire.
Also, Group F has Tunisia, Mali, Mauritania and Gambia.
