Two Abuja-based academy clubs, Sensational Star (2-S) and Mamba FC will kick off the 2023 Talent Hunt Nigeria, an annual recruitment competition organised by Roberts Canada Soccer Academy in conjunction with Carl Academy and Football Collge Umuahia, slated for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Monday.
According to the fixture of the week-long youth football tournament which will hold from Monday, September 25 to Saturday 30, 2023 at Area 3 football pitch, Garki, four matches will be played each day with Sensational Star (2-S) FC and Mamba FC being the first match of the opening day starting by 9.00 am
Prompt News reports that the second game of the day billed for 10. 30 am will feature Star Peak FC of Akwanga vs Esprings Academy, Ondo state. It will be followed by the encounter between
ECN Global, Abuja and One Touch, Abuja by 12.00 pm while the last match on Monday will see Like-Minds take on Bohold FC, Umunneochi, Abia state by 1. 30 pm.
The highpoint of the tournament will be the epic clash between the Talent Hunt 2023 Selected Team and Nigeria National League Team slated for 9.00 am at the same venue on Saturday.
Meanwhile, top officials of Roberts Canada Soccer Academy and Cadiz CF, a Spanish Laliga club coming to identify quality players from the ages of 16 to 23 (boys and girls) who will be taken to Spain for trials if selected have already arrived Abuja for the tournament.
According to the founder of Carl Academy and Football College, Umuahia, Pastor Eneka Inyama, arrangements have been completed to stage a successful football competition to expose young players with great football skills.
Said he: “ All is set for the 2023 edition of our annual Talent Hunt Nigeria. I believe this year’s competition will be better than the previous editions. This is because Cadiz CF and our partner Roberts Canada Soccer Academy are bringing the Sporting Directors of two other Laliga clubs for the programme”.
“I can confirm that our partners are already in Abuja and the participating teams including Carl Academy and Football College are ground too. Logistics have been put in place to ensure that the event goes on smoothly”.

However, the organisers have announced that all matches will be for 30 minutes each half in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the tournament agreed by the participants just as teams are allowed to make 11 changes in the match.
