Alleged illegal petroleum deal: NSCDC arraigns man July 19

 A Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday  fixed July 19 for arraignment of one Sunday Stephen, charged with conspiracy and illegal deal in petroleum products.

Stephen was charged on two counts by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)  before Justice Nicholas Oweibo.

The suit  marked FHC/L/255c/19 borders on unlawful possession of petroleum products and conspiracy to deal in same.

Miss Erute Okandeji and Mrs Oyinlola Esimna-Igbene appeared in court for the prosecution on Wednesday but the case was adjourned until July 19 for the court to take Stephen’s plea.

According to the charge, Stephen committed the offences on June 30 at a place called Creek in Iyana-Odo, Baruwa, Alimosho LGA, Lagos State.

The NSCDC alleged that he unlawfully dealt in petroleum products, in  contravention of Sections 1(17) and 3(6) of the Miscellaneous Offences Act, 2004.
